It can be considered as a pioneer in recycling with a long history in recycled wool. The textile and clothing sector represent the most relevant reality in terms of number of companies in the sector (around 7.000)\, of people employed (around 44.000) and economic turnover. The industrial district present an active environment where growing interdependence among companies\, and different actors drive to an innovative approach for the fashion system. \nTo have a wide and heterogeneous vision on the T&C reality of Prato\, the 2-day Learning Expedition organized by Next Technology Tecnotessile (NTT)\, will bring you to discover the production of traditional T&C companies as well as more innovative companies engaged in textile recycling and in the technical textile production.The first day will be dedicated to the visit of the Tuscany Fashion Cluster (the host organization) and of Lanificio Faliero Sarti\, a historic textile company of the Prato district\, specialized in high fashion textiles. The expedition will then focus on the recycling dimension of the textile industry through the visit of a processing factory\, Nuova Fratelli Boretti\, a traditional company rooted in the Prato territory dealing with regeneration of textile raw material and circular economy since 1960. In line with the theme of recycling the expedition will move to GIDA\, a wastewater management company.The second day you will attend a workshop dedicated to circular textile and technical textile with the participation of experts\, exponents of the T&C industry as well as the intervention of entrepreneurs.
